Position Overview
The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of complex IT initiatives supporting a Commercial & Industrial (C&I) energy retail business. This role oversees planning, execution, risk management, and successful delivery of projects related to billing, pricing, sales, and retail platform systems.
Key Responsibilities
IT Project Management & Delivery
- Manage the full project lifecycle from intake and planning through execution, go-live, and stabilization
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, RAID logs, dependency tracking, and cutover strategies
- Oversee day-to-day execution while managing scope, timelines, budgets, and delivery risks
- Lead status reporting, escalations, and decision tracking with clear accountability for outcomes
Billing Systems Leadership
- Lead a large-scale billing transformation initiative consolidating multiple legacy billing platforms into a unified enterprise solution
- Manage testing activities including SIT, UAT, parallel billing, and mock cutovers
- Coordinate go-live readiness, production releases, and post-implementation stabilization efforts
Pricing Systems & Deal Enablement
- Oversee delivery of projects supporting pricing engines, governance workflows, and deal structuring tools
- Collaborate with Sales, Risk, Finance, and Operations teams to align pricing solutions with business requirements
- Ensure seamless integration between pricing platforms and CRM, quoting, contracting, and billing systems
- Manage release planning and enhancement deployments related to pricing model updates
Sales & CRM Enablement
- Lead delivery initiatives for CRM, quoting, proposal generation, and contract workflow systems
- Manage projects spanning lead-to-contract and contract-to-bill processes
- Partner with stakeholders to support broker, direct, and strategic sales channels
- Drive user adoption and operational readiness for new sales and automation capabilities
Financial & Governance Management
- Track project financials and ensure alignment with approved budgets and business cases
- Partner with Finance teams on forecasting, capitalization, and variance reporting
- Maintain audit-ready project documentation and governance compliance
- Ensure traceability between approved scope, funding, and delivered outcomes
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Serve as the primary IT delivery lead for business and technology stakeholders
- Translate business objectives into executable technical delivery plans
- Provide clear and actionable updates to leadership and project teams
- Drive alignment across IT, Finance, Operations, and business groups to resolve blockers
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of IT project management experience with progressive delivery responsibility
- Proven experience leading enterprise system implementations or transformation programs
- Experience supporting billing, pricing, sales, or financial systems in complex environments
- Strong understanding of project financials, WBS structures, and IT governance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within energy retail, utilities, or other regulated industries
- Exposure to Commercial & Industrial (C&I) Gas and Power business operations
- Experience managing multi-system, multi-vendor integration projects
- Familiarity with Agile, hybrid, and waterfall delivery methodologies
