Job Description
We are seeking a Materials Engineer
to support polymer materials testing and validation. The role will involve sample preparation, material characterization, and providing polymer materials modeling inputs for virtual analyses (CAE, durability, and multiphysics simulations). You will collaborate with engineering and product development teams to advance research and development projects.
Responsibilities
- Sample Preparation: Prepare polymer and composite samples for testing (cutting, polishing, mounting).
- Material Testing: Conduct mechanical and thermal tests using specialized lab equipment.
- Equipment Management: Operate and maintain laboratory instruments.
- Data & Documentation: Record accurate test results to support the materials database.
- Engineering Support: Assist senior engineers with R&D projects and experiments.
- Lab Maintenance: Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant laboratory environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science/Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or Polymer Sciences (preferred).
- 2+ years of practical experience with automotive plastics and composites formulation/processing (preferred).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation, reporting, and data management.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills.
