Patient Registry Representative
Location: Orange County, CA
Duration: 6 month contract
Pay: 18-23 USD per hour
Position Summary
The Patient Registry Representative is responsible for gathering, verifying, and maintaining accurate patient registry data while supporting registry-related administrative and customer service activities. This role plays an important part in ensuring patient and event information is complete, accurate, and properly documented in accordance with internal procedures and applicable regulations.
The ideal candidate will have strong data entry skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to communicate professionally with hospitals, physician offices, and internal stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Data Collection & Data Entry
- Gather, verify, and enter patient registry information with a high degree of accuracy.
- Collect missing information from external customers, including hospital staff and physician offices.
- Review patient and event information received and determine whether additional information is needed.
- Enter and maintain Implant Patient Registry (IPR) data in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.
Case Review & Registry Support
- Evaluate patient and event information to determine whether cases should be forwarded to the Complaint Department.
- Respond to and answer basic patient registry-related questions from internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform peer audits of Implant Patient Registry (IPR) data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Support registry operations by identifying data discrepancies and following up for clarification when needed.
Administrative Support
- Sort and organize incoming mail by date.
- Print and mail Implant Patient ID cards.
- Maintain organized records and documentation related to patient registry activities.
- Support department projects and assist with process improvement initiatives.
Process Improvement & Team Support
- Participate in special projects and department initiatives as assigned.
- Identify potential process improvement opportunities and escalate recommendations to the Supervisor for review.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams and business partners to support department goals.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience in a related field.
Experience
- 2–4 years of experience in data entry, registry support, customer service, healthcare administration, or a related field.
- Experience working with confidential or sensitive information in a professional environment.
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
- Ability to type 55 words per minute accurately.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer systems.
- Experience with data entry and maintaining accurate electronic records.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally with hospital staff, physician offices, and internal customers.
- Ability to provide feedback in a professional, direct, and tactful manner.
Industry Knowledge
- Basic understanding of:
- HIPAA regulations
- Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
- Complaint handling processes
- Medical terminology
- Familiarity with company policies and procedures is a plus.
