Overview:
Under general guidance, this position applies diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices across a broad range of assignments. The role requires advanced techniques, as well as adaptation and extension of theories and practices. Responsibilities include planning and conducting work that demands independent evaluation, selection, and modification of standard methods. The engineer will also devise solutions to complex problems and may perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR 2–5 years of relevant duties experience
- 0–2 years of supervisory experience (if applicable)
Role Focus
The electrical engineering team is seeking a candidate to assist with the operation and maintenance of wind turbine generators and power distribution systems. The ideal candidate will bring 3–5 years of experience working with large motors and/or generators
in design, manufacturing, or field environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply knowledge of electrical rotating machines, including electromagnetic theory and machine dynamics
- Diagnose and resolve generator system issues using diagnostic tools (e.g., Vibration Monitoring, Motor Current Signature Analysis (MCSA, ESA), endoscopic inspections)
- Evaluate materials, construction methods, and manufacturing processes used in rotating electrical machines
- Apply and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems (QMS)
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis and provide technical recommendations
- Write technical documents such as repair, operations, and maintenance procedures
- Translate financial and technical information into clear business cases for leadership approval
- Manage multiple projects and deliverables with strong organizational skills
- Provide technical support to Field Service Personnel
- (Preferred) Prior experience with wind generation systems
Candidate Profile
Required:
- Engineering degree
- 5+ years of engineering experience
- Ability to travel up to 20% (wind sites and vendor shops)
- Ability and willingness to climb wind turbines
- Capacity to work both independently and in team settings
- Strong self-learning and problem-solving skills
