The Power BI Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining interactive dashboards and reports within the Power BI Service. This role partners closely with the Big Data team and business stakeholders to understand reporting needs, translate requirements into effective data visualizations, and deliver high-quality analytics solutions that support business decision-making. This is an onsite role based in the Houston corporate office.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support Power BI reports and dashboards using industry best practices
- Publish and manage reports and dashboards in the Power BI Service to enable collaboration and data sharing
- Optimize dashboards for performance, scalability, and user experience
- Translate business requirements into clear, intuitive visualizations
- Develop and manage metrics, calculations, and measures using Power BI functions
- Consolidate, transform, and aggregate data to support reporting needs
- Schedule data refreshes and configure alerts and proactive notifications
- Identify, prevent, and support resolution of data quality issues
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience developing Power BI dashboards and reports
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders
- Advanced experience publishing and managing content in the Power BI Service
- Expertise in Power Query and DAX
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve data quality and reporting issues
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to educate report requestors and end users on Power BI capabilities, development standards, and best practices
