Project Manager - Prevailing Wage and Compliance Audit

Location: Remote

Contract: 12 months

Max Pay Rate:$28-33/hour


Position Overview

The Prevailing Wage & Apprenticeship Compliance Auditor (PWACA) is responsible for ensuring compliance with prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements for renewable energy projects. This role involves auditing contractor-submitted data, reviewing certified payrolls, validating labor compliance documentation, and reporting findings to upper management.

The PWACA serves as the primary point of contact for all prevailing wage labor compliance requirements and ensures each project meets its unique contractual and regulatory obligations.


Key Responsibilities

Compliance Auditing

  • Audit contractor data inputs related to prevailing wage and apprenticeship compliance.
  • Compare submitted data against project tax, finance stipulations, and contract exhibits.
  • Verify documentation for completeness, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
  • Gather certified payrolls and related labor documentation.
  • Review payroll records to confirm:
    • Correct wage classifications and rates
    • Proper fringe benefit contributions
    • Fulfillment of all labor compliance requirements per contract

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare detailed audit reports outlining deficiencies and corrective actions.
  • Conduct discrepancy research and provide resolution support.
  • Input compliance data into tracking dashboards on a weekly basis.
  • Maintain organized records for each project’s unique compliance requirements.

Stakeholder Communication

  • Host weekly meetings with upper management to present:
    • Audit progress
    • Compliance status
    • Identified issues and resolutions
  • Communicate project-specific requirements to responsible stakeholders.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for prevailing wage labor compliance matters.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Minimum of 3 years of payroll administration experience.
  • Experience working with technical databases.
  • Experience with LPC Tracker software.
  • Strong analytical and detail-oriented skillset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in Prevailing Wage & Apprenticeship compliance.
  • Experience with wage compliance under Inflation Reduction Act requirements.
  • Experience reviewing certified payroll documentation.
  • Familiarity with labor compliance tracking systems.
