Job Summary

In this role, you will independently manage and support complex utility-related projects from initial submission through closure. The position requires strong ownership of tasks, proactive coordination across stakeholders, and the ability to oversee project dependencies with minimal oversight. Unlike task-support analyst roles, this position requires full responsibility for assigned commodities, including scheduling, tracking, issue resolution, and delivering project-level insights.

Core Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary owner for assigned project commodities throughout the complete project life cycle—from submission through closure.
  • Facilitate internal and external stakeholder meetings, define deliverables, and coordinate schedules to ensure on-time execution.
  • Conduct detailed submittal reviews for complex utility project types (e.g., Rule 15), supporting project managers with high-accuracy analysis.
  • Independently develop and deliver project updates, reports, and tracking documents to project managers.
  • Identify outstanding dependencies and deliverables; schedule work orders with limited oversight when prerequisites are met.
  • Participate in customer collaboration meetings, district tactical meetings, and regional grid team discussions, contributing operational insights.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for project support staff, providing guidance, training, and mentorship.
  • Resolve project conflicts, delays, and errors by coordinating with internal partners and external stakeholders.
  • Perform regular data integrity audits to ensure reporting accuracy across tracking systems and systems of record.
  • Maintain accurate notes, records, and documentation as required.
  • Apply deep understanding of relevant policies, programs, and procedures related to distribution and/or transmission electrical line construction.

    Project Management Support Duties

  • Facilitate project-related meetings.
  • Conduct documentation and submittal reviews.
  • Support project scheduling activities.
  • Prepare project reports and status updates.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders.

    Essential Duties and Job Functions

  • Conduct detailed review and validation of project submissions and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers to maintain timelines, resolve issues, and ensure task completion.
  • Coordinate cross-functional interactions between engineering, construction, and customer operations teams.
  • Track project progress, risks, and dependencies using analytical tools and system data.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of project records across multiple platforms.
  • Provide process guidance and best-practice mentorship to junior project coordination staff.
  • Support utility construction processes by ensuring compliance with established standards and procedures.

    Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), including data manipulation, PowerBI reporting, and use of analytical formulas and tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for internal and external stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and coordination workflows.
  • Working knowledge of utility project processes is highly preferred.
  • Ability to identify dependencies, track deliverables, and escalate issues appropriately.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data auditing and documentation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and build productive working relationships.

    Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience reviewing and interpreting data sets in an analytical role.
  • Minimum 5 years of project coordination and/or project management experience.
