Title: Project Coordinator II

Location: Pomona, CA

Pay:$34.00-$39.00/hour

Schedule: 7am to 4pm, Monday through Friday. Hybrid, M, T on-site

Duration: 6-Month Contract



Position Summary

The Project Coordinator supports end-to-end delivery of assigned projects by coordinating schedules, reviewing submittals, maintaining accurate reporting, and ensuring timely completion of deliverables. Serving as a key link between internal teams, external partners, and customers, this role resolves project issues, monitors progress, and upholds organizational standards. The position also provides guidance to project support staff and contributes to efficient, compliant execution of complex utility projects.






Job Responsibilities

In this role, you will manage and support a variety of projects within the organization. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading project activities for assigned commodities from project initiation through closure.
  • Facilitating meetings, defining deliverables, and coordinating schedules with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Performing detailed reviews of complex project submittals in support of project managers.
  • Preparing and delivering project updates, reports, and tracking documentation independently.
  • Identifying outstanding project dependencies and deliverables, and scheduling work orders with minimal oversight.
  • Participating in customer collaboration meetings and internal tactical or grid-focused discussions, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert for project management support staff, including providing training and mentorship.
  • Resolving project conflicts, delays, and errors by working closely with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Conducting regular data integrity audits across tracking systems, reports, and records to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Entering notes, documentation, and records into appropriate systems as required.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in organizational policies, programs, and procedures related to distribution and/or transmission electrical line construction.
  • Supporting project managers with tasks including, but not limited to:
    • Meeting facilitation
    • Document and submittal review
    • Project scheduling
    • Reporting
    • Customer and stakeholder communication

Essential Duties & Job Functions

  • Coordinate multiple project workflows concurrently and ensure all phases progress on time.
  • Review and validate project submissions and documentation to ensure alignment with requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project information across various reporting tools and systems of record.
  • Provide detailed project analysis, status updates, and recommendations to leadership.
  • Independently identify issues or bottlenecks and implement solutions to keep projects on schedule.
  • Support continuous improvement by evaluating project processes and identifying efficiency enhancements.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with internal departments, external partners, and customers.
  • Ensure compliance with all organizational procedures, standards, and work practices relevant to the role.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and evaluate data sets.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications, including data manipulation, formulas, visualization tools, and Power BI.
  • Experience using database tools such as Access, SAP, or equivalent systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder interaction at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Demonstrated reliability in maintaining documentation accuracy and data integrity.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and build strong working relationships internally and externally.
  • Solid understanding of utility industry processes (preferred).

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 5 years of analytical experience interpreting and evaluating data.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project coordination or project management.
  • At least 2 years of experience with data analytics tools such as Power BI and advanced Excel.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the utility industry preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with database software (Access, SAP, or equivalent).
