Job Title: Project Management Consultant – Level 1
Job Description
The Project Management Consultant will support the overall execution of assigned projects, ensuring they stay on schedule, within budget, and aligned with safety and compliance requirements. This role provides operational support for construction activities performed by contractors and vendors at project sites.
Key responsibilities include monitoring productivity, assessing work quality, validating design compliance, and verifying appropriate resource allocation. The consultant will also assist with budget oversight, contract management, and resolution of technical issues. This role requires frequent interaction with vendors, regulatory agencies, local officials, landowners, and internal stakeholders.
The ideal candidate has experience in construction or renewable energy projects, strong project management skills, and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams. While the role is primarily office-based, travel may be required on an as-needed basis (up to 25%).
Responsibilities
- Support project execution by monitoring productivity, schedule adherence, work quality, and safety performance.
- Participate in project walk-downs and validate acceptance of completed work against design requirements.
- Assist with budget tracking, scope control, contract administration, and resolution of technical or field issues.
- Review contractor payment requests and verify constructability and resource needs.
- Coordinate activities across safety, engineering, construction, analytics, and related groups.
- Analyze performance metrics and operational data to support decision-making.
- Build and maintain project schedules in Smartsheet; collaborate with external vendors to confirm material availability and scheduling.
- Reinforce safety, process compliance, corrective actions, and best practices for employees and contractors.
- Interface with local regulators, landowners, and external stakeholders as needed.
Education
- Associate’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Land Surveying, or a related field required.
- PMP certification preferred.
Required Experience
- 0–5 years of experience supporting project execution, contractor coordination, or construction-related activities.
- Experience using project management tools such as Microsoft Project or Smartsheet.
- Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to travel up to 25% based on project needs.
