JOB TITLE: Project Manager
LOCATION: San Diego, CA
SCHEDULE: standard office hours
DURATION: 1 year contract
PAY: $54-59/hr
Job Responsibilities:
In this role, you will lead and support a variety of Capital and O&M projects within the Business Optimization group. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading multiple cross-functional projects, including:
o Process optimization initiatives
o System enhancements
o Continuous improvement efforts
o Operational and business transformation projects - Serving as the single point of contact for assigned projects, ensuring overall project success
- Managing project scope, schedules, business requirements, resources, and deliverables
- Driving stakeholder communication, implementation planning, training, and change management
- Ensuring projects support safety, reliability, compliance, asset management, customer service, and accounting operations
Essential Duties and Job Functions:
- Lead and manage all phases of assigned projects through direct coordination with departments, subject matter experts (SMEs), consultants, management, and other personnel
- Drive accountability across project teams to ensure milestones and deliverables are completed on time
- Develop project scope, schedules, resource plans, and business requirements
- Identify project risks, issues, and dependencies, and proactively implement mitigation strategies
- Maintain open communication with project team members, stakeholders, end-users, and leadership
- Lead stakeholder meetings and initiate discussions related to project deliverables and progress
- Support implementation activities, including change management and training efforts
- Utilize project management applications, software, and reporting tools to maintain consistency in scheduling and reporting
- Ensure key deliverables and milestones are achieved within established timeframes
- Support additional duties as assigned

- Familiarity with enterprise systems such as
SAP and
ArcGIS preferred
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum 9 years of experience in project management, engineering, operations, IT, construction, or related utility experience
- Strong understanding of project management principles required
- Project Management Institute PMP certification preferred
- Lean Six Sigma certification preferred
- Experience managing large-scale projects, directing change, and leading diverse teams strongly preferred
- Utility industry experience highly desirable
