Position Overview
We are seeking a Project Manager
with an engineering background to join the Value Engineering Team
within the Engineering & Construction (E&C) business unit. This role is responsible for managing innovative engineering initiatives from concept and design through implementation, supporting a portfolio of Solar PV
and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)
projects.
The ideal candidate will have strong project management experience, a technical engineering foundation, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage engineering projects from conceptual design through commissioning and implementation.
- Lead project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and execution activities.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to identify product improvements and cost reduction opportunities.
- Provide technical input and assess project feasibility during implementation.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, status reports, and stakeholder communications.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending process enhancements and best practices.
- Attend industry conferences and build relationships with suppliers and vendors to identify emerging technologies and solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing engineering projects from design through implementation.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of project management principles, including:
- Scope management
- Schedule management
- Budget management
- Risk management
- Knowledge of engineering design processes, technical specifications, and implementation practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
- High level of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated, intellectually curious, and enthusiastic about continuous improvement.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), or other power generation projects.
- Understanding of utility-scale renewable energy project development.
- Knowledge of project valuation and financial metrics, including:
- Net Present Value (NPV)
- Internal Rate of Return (IRR)
- Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE)
- Experience with data analysis and analytics.
