Job Responsibilities
In this role, you will split your time evenly between compound management and assay development to support high-throughput screening (HTS) and drug discovery programs. Key responsibilities include:
Compound Management (50%)
- Process compound requests and prepare assay-ready plates using automation and sample management tools.
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments with CRO partners and collaborators.
- Maintain compound library integrity, accurate records, and quality control.
- Perform routine liquid handler maintenance and troubleshooting.
Assay Development (50%)
- Develop, miniaturize, and execute biochemical and cell-based assays in 384-well and 1536-well formats.
- Utilize automation and liquid handling systems to support HTS and hit-to-lead efforts.
- Analyze and interpret assay data with focus on reproducibility and quality.
Essential Duties and Job Functions
- Independently follow established protocols and SOPs to generate reliable results.
- Apply expertise in assay development to support weekly small molecule testing.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external CRO partners to ensure smooth project execution.
- Maintain accurate documentation of experimental data and workflows.
- Troubleshoot issues with automation platforms and laboratory equipment as needed.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with plate-based biochemical or cell-based assays.
- Familiarity with assay automation, liquid handling systems, and high-throughput workflows.
- Attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining clear communication with team members.
- Preferred: Experience in compound management, LIMS/databases, and cell culture techniques.
Education & Experience
- B.S. in Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or related field with up to 4 years of relevant lab experience, or
- M.S. with up to 2 years of relevant lab experience.
