This Senior Engineer role leads and supports multi-disciplinary engineering projects across utility-scale solar, BESS, and power generation. Responsibilities include managing engineering deliverables, conducting design and technical reviews, ensuring regulatory and safety compliance, and coordinating with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. The position provides technical oversight from early design through commissioning, supports troubleshooting and performance analysis, and helps drive reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality project execution.
Specialized Engineering Functions:
Electrical / I&C Engineering:
- Expertise in electrical distribution systems, power systems engineering, ladder logic, safe-shutdown analysis, and the use of computational tools such as ETAP and EDISON.
Mechanical Engineering:
- Knowledge of pumps, valves, heat exchangers, pipe stress analysis, and relevant ASME standards.
Civil / Structural Engineering:
- Experience designing and managing civil and structural components including foundations, site grading, drainage, seismic qualification, pipe supports, GT Strudel, welding, and rigging.
MOV Valve Engineering:
- Skilled in diagnostics, troubleshooting, and valve program management.
Core Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and manage engineering projects using advanced engineering principles.
- Balance cost, reliability, safety, and performance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical supervision to engineering teams and oversee design development, permitting, and compliance activities.
- Conduct detailed design reviews, technical assessments, and compliance verification for power delivery and energy projects.
- Support the transition from conceptual engineering through field implementation, ensuring industry best practices are consistently applied.
- Maintain strong negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities to ensure project success and technical integrity.
Desired Education: - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.
Qualifications: - 11–15 years of experience providing technical leadership, engineering oversight, and project execution for major energy or infrastructure projects.
- 11+ years of experience in PLC programming, preferably with Schneider Electric systems.
- Expert-level knowledge of Modbus, DNP3, and industrial communication protocols.
- Experience with Ignition SCADA and HMI development.
- Strong understanding of power systems and utility-scale energy projects.
- Proven background in renewable energy or power generation.
- Knowledge of BESS controls, inverter technologies, and energy storage systems.
- Familiarity with grid interconnection requirements and utility standards.
- Experience conducting FAT/SAT testing and supporting commissioning activities.
- Responsible for PPA, LGIA, and OEM testing deliverables.
- Ability to travel up to 25% to support commissioning.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
- NERC CIP cybersecurity awareness preferred.
