About the Opportunity

Hydrogen Group is partnering with a leading automotive innovator to find a Senior Structural Safety Engineer (CAE). This is a high-impact role focused on performing structural simulations to ensure vehicles meet or exceed global crash and safety standards. You’ll work cross-functionally with design and validation teams and help optimize safety performance through advanced CAE methods and data-driven engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform structural crash and safety simulations using CAE tools (e.g., LS-Dyna).
  • Evaluate vehicle and component performance against FMVSS, IIHS, NCAP, and international standards.
  • Collaborate with design engineering to refine and validate structural designs.
  • Develop and improve CAE models to increase predictive accuracy.
  • Analyze test and simulation data, identify issues, and propose solutions.
  • Support component and vehicle-level test plans aligned with DVPs.
  • Automate analysis workflows through scripting/programming to increase efficiency.
  • Correlate CAE models with physical test results to validate and refine performance.
  • Communicate findings and technical recommendations across engineering and leadership teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in structural CAE analysis, preferably in automotive crash/safety.
  • Strong proficiency in LS-Dyna and crash/safety simulation tools.
  • Solid understanding of structural mechanics, crashworthiness, and safety regulations.
  • Experience with CAE model development, validation, and correlation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on complex projects.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have

  • Experience automating CAE processes (e.g., Python, shell scripting).
  • Familiarity with vehicle architecture, materials, and joining methods.
  • Prior work supporting launch or validation phases of vehicle programs.
