Our client, a leading medical device company, is seeking a Sr. Analyst Planner to manage inventory planning, supplier relationships, and procurement activities for our medical device manufacturing operations. This role focuses on demand forecasting, inventory optimization, and supply chain coordination to ensure seamless production operations and product availability.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Planning & Inventory Management
- Develop and maintain demand forecasts based on production schedules, historical data, and market trends
- Manage just-in-time (JIT) inventory systems to optimize stock levels and minimize carrying costs
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment activities to prevent stockouts and excess inventory
- Analyze supply chain metrics and KPIs to identify opportunities for improvement
- Coordinate with production planning to align material availability with manufacturing schedules
Supplier Management & Procurement Coordination
- Evaluate and monitor supplier performance based on quality, delivery, service, and cost
- Review purchase requisitions and coordinate procurement activities with purchasing teams
- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve delivery issues, quality concerns, and supply disruptions
- Support contract compliance monitoring and vendor relationship management
- Participate in supplier selection and qualification processes
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to address material-related issues
- Communicate supply chain risks and mitigation strategies to stakeholders
- Support resolution of delivery delays, defective materials, and other supply chain challenges
- Coordinate with logistics teams to optimize inbound material flow
- Participate in new product introduction (NPI) planning activities
Process Improvement & Reporting
- Identify and implement supply chain process improvements using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
- Maintain accurate records in ERP/MRP systems
- Generate reports on inventory status, supplier performance, and procurement activities
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain function
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, or related field
- 5-7 years of experience in supply chain planning, inventory management, or procurement
- Experience in medical device or regulated manufacturing environment strongly preferred
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and forecasting
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles and best practices
- Understanding of inventory management methodologies (JIT, EOQ, safety stock calculations)
- Familiarity with demand planning and forecasting techniques
