Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Draper, UT

Contract Duration: 12 Months

Maximum Pay Rate:$47-52/hr.

Position Overview

The Manufacturing Engineer applies engineering theory and principles to solve problems related to industrial layout, manufacturing processes, production, and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with manufacturing processes, engineering drawings, blueprints, production standards, quality assurance, and process improvement. The role requires the ability to analyze production data, evaluate workflows, and collaborate with management and engineering teams to improve efficiency, quality, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct time, motion, method, and speed studies related to maintenance, production, and other operations to establish standard production rates and improve operational efficiency.
• Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, formulas, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with management and engineering personnel to establish and maintain quality and reliability standards.
• Review worker logs, product processing sheets, specification sheets, and other production records to ensure compliance with quality assurance requirements.
• Assist in planning and assigning work based on worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays.
• Develop charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate:
  • Workflow and routing
  • Manufacturing floor layouts
  • Material handling processes
  • Machine utilization
• Observe employees operating manufacturing equipment to verify that equipment is being operated and maintained in accordance with quality and safety standards.
• Conduct time and motion observations using appropriate timing devices to determine task completion times and evaluate fatigue factors.
• Analyze production and operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and deviations from established standards.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation to validate existing standards or identify areas requiring improvement.

• Experience with computer applications and engineering-related software, including Computer-Aided Design (CAD).

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
• 5–7 years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience required.
