Summary:
The Occupational Health Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of workers' compensation claims. This includes conducting and documenting thorough investigations, reviewing medical records, and advising on the need for additional medical information such as subpoenas or surveillance when necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct health assessments, provide initial diagnoses, and administer treatment to employees upon request.
- Oversee on-site health and environmental screening programs; coordinate referrals for clinical evaluations, and interpret and communicate results in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with Human Resources and Legal teams to advise on employee work restrictions and recommend reasonable accommodations for medical conditions.
- Maintain OSHA 300, 301, and 300A logs in accordance with OSHA guidelines and regulatory knowledge.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; certification or experience as an Occupational Health Nurse is essential.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of relevant experience required.
