Title: Sr Project Manager

Location: Iowa (onsite - Palo, Iowa)

Schedule: Standard Office Hours

Duration: 12-Month Contract

Pay Rate Range:$87.00 – $100.00/hour



Job Summary:

In this role, you will oversee and execute complex projects and plant modifications, including work on safety-related systems. Reporting to the Program Manager, you will lead planning, budgeting, and resource optimization while ensuring compliance with nuclear industry standards. This position requires significant experience in nuclear operations and project leadership.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects to ensure timely completion in alignment with schedules and objectives.
  • Develop project plans, cost analyses, schedules, estimations, and reports to track deliverables.
  • Coordinate engineering, construction, and other functional resources to achieve project milestones.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to schedulers, cost engineers, and estimators.
  • Manage site-related project controls and systems to support development tasks.
  • Ensure strategic planning and resource optimization for projects with budgets up to $1M.
  • Surface challenges, propose solutions, and maintain momentum on assigned projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong project management and leadership skills with the ability to manage large, complex projects.
  • Proficiency in cost estimation, scheduling, and reporting.
  • Ability to collaborate across engineering, construction, and functional teams.
  • Knowledge of nuclear operations, safety-related systems, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with estimating systems preferred.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Sciences, or a technical discipline (required).
  • 10+ years of nuclear industry experience, including 7+ years in a leadership role.
  • In the absence of a degree: 10+ years of experience in project management, engineering, or construction within the nuclear or fossil industry.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Nuclear-specific project management experience highly desirable.
