You’ll be responsible for understanding existing Python and VBA-based tools, identifying data sources, and proposing strategic solutions to standardise and de-risk processes using enterprise platforms (OMS, S&P EDM, Eagle, FactSet, etc.).

This position offers exposure to cutting-edge AI initiatives, a highly collaborative international environment, and the opportunity to influence how data is leveraged across 60+ investment desks globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and document investment data attributes, data lineage, and process impacts.
  • Analyse Python/VBA user applications and pipelines; identify improvement opportunities.
  • Produce functional requirements documents and Jira tickets outlining current and target states.
  • Partner with technology teams to ensure delivery of required system changes, testing, and sign-off.
  • Collaborate with central data management and architecture teams to ensure alignment across platforms.
  • Create repeatable testing frameworks to validate data and process changes.
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders across business, technology, and data teams.
  • Support the integration of emerging technologies, including AI-based solutions, into data workflows.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in financial services, ideally within asset management, investment banking, or wealth management.
  • Strong understanding of front-, middle-, and back-office investment operations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of equities, fixed income, derivatives, fund management, or client reporting.
  • Hands-on experience with an Order Management System (OMS)(e.g., BlackRock Aladdin, Charles River).
  • Working knowledge of Python, VBA, and SQL.
  • Proven ability to write and implement business requirements, process maps, and user stories.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and process mapping tools (Visio, Lucidchart, etc.).
  • Analytical, structured, and detail-oriented approach with a focus on delivery.

Preferred Skills

  • 3+ years of hands-on Python, SQL, and VBA development experience.
  • Prior experience creating AI utilities(e.g., multi-agent LLMs).
  • Experience mentoring junior analysts or team members.
  • Familiarity with S&P EDM (CADIS), Eagle, FactSet, Port, or other enterprise data tools.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms(Azure, Databricks, Snowflake).
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies and experience using Jira.
  • CFA candidate or relevant certification preferred.

Soft Skills

  • Confident communicator capable of engaging directly with front-office stakeholders.
  • Assertive and able to challenge constructively when required.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and motivated by continuous improvement.
