Job Title: Transmission Line Principal Engineer
Location: Juno Beach, FL (Hybrid)
Contract: 12 Months
Rate:$47–52/hr
The Opportunity
Hydrogen Group is supporting a leading organisation within the energy and infrastructure sector to appoint a Transmission Line Principal Engineer.
This role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale transmission projects supporting renewable energy integration, including wind, solar, and battery energy storage systems (BESS), as well as standalone transmission developments.
You will play a key role across the full project lifecycle, from early-stage development through to construction and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage transmission line design from concept through execution and commissioning
- Oversee and direct engineering consultants delivering design packages
- Support early-stage development including scope definition and technical requirements
- Lead sourcing activities: develop scopes, evaluate bids, and award work through supply chain processes
- Coordinate routing, permitting, and technical data collection (LiDAR, geotechnical, survey)
- Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders across engineering, construction, and development
- Support cost estimation with technical inputs and scope assumptions
- Oversee delivery of engineering documentation including:
- Issued for Bid (IFB)
- Issued for Procurement (IFP)
- Issued for Construction (IFC)
- As-built drawings
- Contribute to RFPs and competitive transmission proposals
- Provide updates on progress, risks, and mitigation strategies to stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil/Structural Engineering
- 7+ years’ experience in high-voltage transmission line design, engineering, and construction
- Strong knowledge of transmission line design principles and delivery
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings (one-line, three-line, plan & profile, GA drawings)
- Proven experience managing stakeholders and delivering projects in complex environments
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience with tools such as PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, Primavera, and MS Office
- Willingness to travel across North America
Preferred
- Background in project engineering or project management
- PMP certification and/or Professional Engineer (P.E.) licence
- Experience supporting utility-scale renewable integration projects
