Position: Vehicle Operations Specialist

Location: Chelsea, MA

Duration: 3-Month Contract

Pay Range:$28–$32 per hour


Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure quality standards by washing vehicle exteriors and cleaning/preparing interiors.
  • Shuttle vehicles between locations, including customer and fleet vehicles.
  • Support the pre-delivery inspection process (cosmetic checks, dynamic test drives, air tool and torque wrench use).
  • Utilize computer systems and software, including Microsoft Office and internal platforms.
  • Conduct quality control checks on delivery-ready vehicles and communicate defects to the service department.
  • Maintain vehicle delivery readiness and lot organization, ensuring safe and usable drive lanes.
  • Prepare, inspect, and stage customer trade-ins for transport to auction.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the leadership team.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in operations, logistics, or lot management (automotive, EV, or detailing experience preferred).
  • Experience with service writing or work order systems desirable.
  • Minimum age: 21 years.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid driver’s license for the state of residence (or commuting state).
  • Clean driving record:
    • No drug/alcohol-related incidents within the past 3 years.
    • No more than one serious moving violation within the past 3 years.
    • No license suspensions or revocations within the past 3–5 years.
  • Subject to ongoing Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) monitoring.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in various environments, including active service centers and outdoor conditions.
  • Capable of performing physical tasks such as standing for up to 8+ hours, walking, bending, kneeling, twisting, lifting up to 50 lbs, and operating tools.
  • Frequent hand use for data entry, tool handling, and communication tasks.
  • Strong command of written and spoken English.
  • Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, maintenance instructions, and regulatory materials.
