Vendor Manager
Location: Rosemead, CA (Hybrid - Tuesday & Wednesday onsite)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Pay Rate:$41.23/hour
We are seeking a Vendor Manager to support the governance, administration, and performance management of outsourced IT services for a major California utility. This position is responsible for overseeing vendor relationships, monitoring service delivery, ensuring contractual compliance, and supporting operational excellence across outsourced technology services.
Working closely with internal business teams, Procurement, Legal, and external vendors, you will help maintain strong vendor partnerships while ensuring services are delivered in accordance with contractual obligations and business expectations.
Responsibilities
- Administer vendor and outsourcing contracts in partnership with Procurement and Legal.
- Develop and support IT outsourcing policies, standards, and governance processes.
- Monitor vendor performance using KPIs, SLAs, and operational metrics.
- Prepare reports on vendor performance, operational health, and service delivery.
- Coordinate with vendors to resolve operational and application support issues.
- Identify vendor-related risks and implement appropriate controls and mitigation strategies.
- Ensure vendors comply with contractual obligations and company standards.
- Support project execution by tracking timelines, budgets, deliverables, and milestones.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to improve vendor performance and service quality.
- Recommend process improvements and contribute to operational best practices.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Management, Engineering, or related discipline).
- 1-3 years of experience in vendor management, contract management, project coordination, program management, or service delivery.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience interpreting contracts and monitoring vendor performance.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience supporting IT outsourcing or managed service providers (MSPs).
- Knowledge of vendor governance, contract compliance, and service management.
- Experience with SAP IS-U (Industry Solution for Utilities).
- Experience working within large enterprise or utility environments.
