We are seeking a Controls Engineer
to support the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of control systems for renewable energy projects, including solar PV (Photovoltaic)
and BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems). This role focuses on PLC programming, SCADA configuration, and HMI development, and will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering and project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement PLC-based control systems for PV and BESS projects
- Program PLCs using function blocks, structured text, and ladder logic
- Configure, maintain, and support SCADA systems for monitoring and control
- Develop and test HMI interfaces using the Ignition platform
- Create control narratives, Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs), and O&M manuals
- Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for control systems
- Troubleshoot control system issues and implement corrective solutions
- Collaborate with engineering, commissioning, and project teams to ensure successful delivery
- Document control system designs, configurations, and modifications
- Support commissioning and startup of new and modified systems
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
- 1–3 years of experience with PLC programming and industrial control systems
- Proficiency with function blocks, structured text, and ladder logic
- Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, DNP3, OPC)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Schneider M340 or M580 PLCs
- Experience using the Ignition HMI platform
- Knowledge of renewable energy systems, particularly solar PV and battery storage
- Understanding of electrical power systems and instrumentation
- Experience across the full project lifecycle, from design through commissioning
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for control systems

- Ability to work in a standard office environment
- Occasional travel to field sites for implementation, testing, or troubleshooting may be required
