Our client, a leading automotive manufacturer, is seeking a detail-oriented Data Entry Tech to support the transition of tooling and fixture data from traditional 2D Excel shim logs into a dynamic, 3D modeling application.

Job Responsibilities

In this role, you will assist in migrating legacy fixture and shim log data into a new 3D digital twin platform. Key responsibilities include:

  • Analyze 2D Data: Review 2D Excel spreadsheets and embedded fixture images to locate target shim log records and specifications.
  • Verify Against 3D Models: Navigate the 3D model application, locate the corresponding 3D fixture unit, and compare 2D visual/data points against the 3D representation to ensure accuracy.
  • Data Input & Integration: Accurately record, verify, and enter all fixture and shim log details directly into the 3D application interface.
  • Discrepancy Reporting: Flag and document any inconsistencies between legacy 2D spreadsheet logs and 3D models for quality engineering review.

Essential Job Duties and Job Functions

  • Cross-reference multiple data sources (2D spreadsheets, embedded images, 3D models) to confirm data accuracy before entry.
  • Maintain consistent, error-free data entry standards across a high volume of fixture records.
  • Communicate discrepancies clearly and promptly to the quality engineering team.
  • Adapt to evolving workflows as the organization transitions from legacy to digital tooling systems.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy under high-volume conditions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including navigating and interpreting spreadsheet logs.
  • Comfort learning and working within a 3D modeling or digital twin application.
  • Ability to visually cross-reference 2D images/data against 3D representations.
  • Strong written communication skills for discrepancy documentation.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree a plus.
  • Prior experience in data entry, manufacturing/quality documentation, or a similar administrative/technical support role preferred.
  • Experience with CAD, 3D modeling software, or digital twin platforms is a plus but not required.
