EV Charging Test Engineer

Pay:$44-49/hr
We are seeking an experienced EV Charging Test Engineer to support the development, validation, and testing of electric vehicle charging systems and components. This role requires hands-on experience with high-voltage electrical systems, test instrumentation, data acquisition, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will play a key role in planning, executing, and analyzing tests while supporting root cause investigations and continuous product improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and support test plans, test procedures, and validation activities for EV charging systems and components.
- Execute testing and analyze performance data to verify system functionality and reliability.
- Install and configure test instrumentation, including thermocouples, voltage probes, current transducers, and data acquisition equipment.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including test procedures, specifications, engineering drawings, and verification plans.
- Design, build, and modify test fixtures and instrumentation required for charging equipment validation.
- Perform hands-on testing and troubleshooting of electrical and charging systems.
- Support root cause analysis efforts and drive resolution of issues identified during testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure successful test execution and product validation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a test engineering, validation engineering, or similar technical role.
- Experience executing and maintaining system-level and component-level test programs.
- Strong hands-on hardware testing and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working with medium- and high-voltage electrical systems up to 1000 VDC.
- Proficiency with data acquisition systems, data loggers, and test instrumentation.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple testing activities with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience testing EV charging systems, power electronics, battery systems, or related automotive technologies.
- Familiarity with electrical safety practices and high-voltage testing environments.
- Experience designing custom test fixtures and validation equipment.
