In this role, you will lead early-stage project management activities supporting the development and execution readiness of large-scale energy generation projects. You will work cross-functionally with internal teams (e.g., Development, Environmental, Engineering, Supply Chain, Legal, Marketing, Operations) to drive project success from origination through pre-construction planning.
You will report to senior leadership within the Engineering and Construction function, providing regular updates while contributing technical expertise and strategic input. This position offers the opportunity to manage multiple projects simultaneously and engage deeply in both new and existing project development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple projects to ensure timely delivery, cost efficiency, and competitive outcomes
- Drive cross-functional collaboration to prioritize activities and advance project milestones
- Coordinate core project functions including:
- Conceptual design and engineering
- Capital cost estimating
- Schedule development
- Performance and capacity planning
- Support permitting, regulatory compliance, and legal review processes
- Conduct and support due diligence activities, including risk identification and mitigation planning
- Act as a liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders (e.g., contractors, suppliers, consultants)
- Assist in developing and drafting commercial and technical contract documentation
- Lead negotiations with equipment suppliers, contractors, and technical partners
- Ensure adherence to all applicable technical, safety, and regulatory standards
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Provide clear, timely communication on project status, risks, and key decisions to leadership
- Contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge development in emerging technologies and markets
- Perform additional duties as required
Essential Duties and Functions
- Oversee early-stage project lifecycle activities from origination through execution readiness
- Manage site selection, feasibility analysis, and project structuring efforts
- Support procurement strategies for major equipment and construction services
- Contribute to the development of commercial agreements and transaction structures
- Monitor project scope, schedule, and budget to ensure alignment with expectations
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to resolve technical and commercial challenges
- Ensure projects are positioned for successful execution with acceptable risk profiles
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 8 years of experience in power generation, energy infrastructure, or related project management/engineering roles
Preferred
- Experience with contract negotiation and commercial agreements
- Strong engineering background with the ability to oversee technical project components
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
- Experience with project scheduling tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera)
