Schedule: Flexible Shift (7:00–9:00 AM start / 3:00–5:00 PM end, CST) | OT as needed

Duration: 7-Month Contract with Conversion Potential

Pay:

  • Level 1 (1 year of experience): $20–22/hr (W2)
  • Level 2 (3+ years of experience): $22–24/hr (W2)
  • Level 3 (6+ years of experience): $31–34/hr (W2)




Our client is a cutting-edge aerospace manufacturer. The HSE Technician supports the day-to-day execution of health, safety, and environmental programs across manufacturing, test, and operational facilities. This position assists with routine inspections, hazardous waste management, environmental compliance activities, PPE management, spill prevention initiatives, and safety recordkeeping to help maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This role works closely with HSE Specialists, Facilities, Manufacturing, Test Operations, and Environmental teams to support safe operations in a fast-paced aerospace environment.





Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Support daily execution of HSE programs and compliance activities across manufacturing, test, and operational areas
  • Perform hazardous waste management activities including waste pickups, container labeling, waste accumulation inspections, and hazardous waste storage area support
  • Conduct weekly inspections of hazardous waste storage areas, Satellite Accumulation Areas (SAAs), and waste handling operations to ensure compliance with EPA and state regulations
  • Assist with off-spec product management, hazardous material disposition, and waste tracking documentation
  • Support operation and monitoring activities associated with wastewater evaporator systems and related environmental compliance processes
  • Perform Public Water System (PWS) sampling activities and maintain associated environmental records and documentation
  • Maintain inventories and conduct routine inspections of PPE including safety glasses, first aid supplies, fall protection equipment, respirators, and spill response equipment
  • Conduct spill kit inspections and ensure spill response materials are properly stocked and available throughout operational areas
  • Audit and inspect SPCC secondary containment systems to ensure compliance with spill prevention and environmental requirements
  • Maintain rigging and lifting equipment inventories and support inspection tracking requirements
  • Support safety and environmental recordkeeping including generator logs, coating usage logs, sandblasting logs, inspection records, training documentation, and compliance tracking spreadsheets
  • Assist with facility safety inspections, housekeeping audits, and corrective action tracking
  • Support contractor safety oversight and field safety observations as directed by HSE leadership
  • Assist with incident reporting, near miss documentation, and corrective action follow-up activities
  • Maintain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) records and support hazardous chemical inventory management
  • Assist with emergency response preparedness activities including spill response support and emergency equipment inspections
  • Support HSE training coordination and distribution of safety materials and communications
  • Interface with employees, technicians, contractors, and operational teams to promote safe work practices and environmental compliance
  • Perform additional HSE-related duties as assigned




Education and Experience

Required

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1+ years of experience supporting health, safety, environmental, industrial, manufacturing, construction, or hazardous waste operations preferred
  • Experience working in industrial, manufacturing, construction, aerospace, or high-hazard environments preferred

Preferred

  • OSHA 10-Hour or OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification
  • HAZWOPER 24 or 40 certification
  • Experience with hazardous waste management and Satellite Accumulation Areas (SAAs)
  • Experience supporting SPCC, stormwater, or environmental compliance programs
  • Forklift or powered industrial truck experience
  • Experience supporting aerospace, manufacturing, industrial, or construction operations
  • Familiarity with PPE inspections, fall protection equipment, or rigging inspections



Knowledge and Skills

  • Basic understanding of OSHA, EPA, hazardous waste, or industrial safety requirements
  • Ability to conduct field inspections and maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications and data entry systems
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees and contractors
  • Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically active field work
  • Ability to climb ladders, walk long distances, and work around industrial equipment and operational areas
  • Must be able to wear required PPE including respirators, safety harnesses, and protective clothing as required
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or off-shift schedules as needed to support operations
  • Ability to support field operations in outdoor environments including heat, cold, rain, and wind
