IT Project Manager III

Pay:$72-77/hr
We are seeking an IT Project Manager to lead end-to-end delivery of the Technology Integration (TI) workstream while overseeing financial estimating, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to ensure scope, schedule, and costs are effectively managed. This role will also support resource planning and maintain key elements of the integrated project plan, including schedules and work breakdown structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of the TI workstream across all phases of the AMI 2.0 program
- Prepare, analyze, and manage financial reports, including budgets, forecasts, and variance tracking
- Collaborate with TI leadership and technical teams to ensure financial and operational alignment
- Coordinate project activities across business and technical teams to meet milestones and deliverables
- Ensure solution design and technical deliverables align with functional requirements
- Monitor project scope against baseline requirements and support change control processes
- Document scope changes, assess impacts, and escalate risks when necessary
- Maintain clear and auditable documentation of financial transactions and project milestones
- Identify risks and opportunities, recommending corrective actions as needed
- Support procurement activities, vendor management, and contract negotiations
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Broad knowledge of IT infrastructure with the ability to understand end-to-end system impacts
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including advanced Excel and reporting/dashboard tools
- Proven experience managing large, multi-year enterprise projects with multiple workstreams
- Demonstrated ability in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to manage risks, issues, and cross-functional coordination effectively
- Comfortable working in fast-paced environments and quickly adapting to new information
- Ability to bridge business needs with technical solutions
- Hands-on project management capability, including execution of daily deliverables
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, IT, or related field
- 3+ years of project management experience with a strong financial focus
- Experience with large-scale utility or infrastructure programs (e.g., AMI, Grid Modernization)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), including AMI 1.0 or 2.0
- Familiarity with system integrations such as MDMS, head-end systems, OMS, SAP, or ADMS
- Experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- PMP or CAPM certification
- Master’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field
- Knowledge of regulatory and financial compliance in utility or IT environments
