IT Project Manager IV

Pay:$80-100/hr
The IT Project Manager will support a large-scale Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) program across all phases of the project lifecycle, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout. This role works closely with business and technical teams to coordinate activities, track progress, and ensure alignment between requirements and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate project activities across cross-functional business and technical teams
- Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, and work breakdown structures
- Track project progress, milestones, deliverables, and dependencies
- Support requirements gathering and business process mapping to ensure alignment with technical solutions
- Assist in resource planning and track effort and cost estimates across multiple workstreams (integration, data, infrastructure, testing)
- Monitor project scope against baseline requirements and support change control processes
- Document scope changes, assess impacts, and escalate risks as needed
- Maintain clear traceability between requirements, design, and deliverables
- Support solution design activities and project implementation planning
- Coordinate with vendors and support communication across teams under guidance
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and status updates to support program visibility
Requirements
- 5+ years of project management experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, computer science, or related field
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and enterprise systems
- Experience managing large-scale IT initiatives (scope, schedule, budget, risks, deliverables)
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel (including Pivot Tables) and reporting tools
- Experience supporting project delivery, solution planning, and implementation activities
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional coordination skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and quickly ramp up with minimal direction
- Strong balance of business and technical understanding
- Ability to manage day-to-day project tasks while supporting broader program coordination
- Adaptable, detail-oriented, and able to take on additional responsibilities as needed
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AMI or large electric utility technology programs (AMI 1.0 or 2.0 preferred)
- Experience with system integrations (e.g., MDMS, head-end systems, OMS, SAP, ADMS)
- Familiarity with cloud migration or cloud-based implementations
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
