Title: Laboratory Coordinator

Pay:$20.00-$24.50/hr

Location: Irvine, CA

Duration: 18-Month Contract

Schedule: Standard Business Hours

The Laboratory Coordinator supports daily laboratory operations through glassware processing, inventory management, supply ordering, and sample handling while ensuring compliance with laboratory safety, quality, and documentation requirements. This role also provides operational support across Biology, Chemistry, and Microbiology laboratories as needed.



Responsibilities

  • Wash, rinse, dry, inspect, and organize laboratory glassware and reusable laboratory supplies.
  • Operate, clean, and maintain laboratory dishwashers and autoclaves.
  • Monitor inventory levels, perform routine inventory counts, and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Identify replenishment needs, submit and track supply orders, receive deliveries, rotate stock, and monitor expiration dates.
  • Receive, label, log, stage, store, distribute, transfer, and dispose of laboratory samples in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintain sample identification, condition, documentation, and traceability throughout the sample lifecycle.
  • Prepare laboratory test supplies and maintain clean, organized laboratory and storage areas.
  • Complete cleaning logs, inventory records, sample records, equipment logs, and other required documentation.
  • Enter routine laboratory information into approved systems.
  • Monitor laboratory workload, priorities, and staffing needs while providing support across Biology, Chemistry, and Microbiology laboratories as required.

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer and mathematical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions and standard operating procedures in English.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a laboratory environment.
  • Commitment to following laboratory safety and quality procedures.

Preferred:

  • 0–2 years of experience in a laboratory, inventory, materials handling, or related environment.
