We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Project Estimator to join a dynamic and growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in conceptual engineering, project design, and value engineering. This role is responsible for developing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, and optimizing project cost and performance outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of detailed project cost estimates, including conceptual, preliminary, and definitive estimates for both new and existing projects.
- Perform conceptual engineering design and develop preliminary construction plans to support scope quantification.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to review project specifications, drawings, and documentation.
- Conduct value engineering analyses to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and project requirements.
- Develop and maintain estimation tools, databases, and methodologies to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Perform risk assessments and establish contingency plans for project uncertainties.
- Present cost estimates and value engineering recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Mentor and support junior estimators, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
- Monitor project costs and variances throughout the lifecycle, updating estimates as needed.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in project estimating, with a focus on conceptual engineering and design.
- Experience in utility-scale energy projects (e.g., renewable energy, power generation, transmission infrastructure).
- Strong knowledge of value engineering principles.
- Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and equipment.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in cost estimating and project management.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s or postgraduate degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in project estimating.
- 3+ years of field engineering or construction management experience.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Estimating Professional (CEP) or Certified Cost Professional (CCP).
- Experience with cost estimation tools (e.g., PlanSwift, WinEst, CostX, or similar).
- Familiarity with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).

- Primarily office-based role with occasional travel to project sites.
- Fast-paced environment requiring effective management of multiple priorities.
