Mechanical Engineer II

Up to $56.38/hour, Opportunity to work on innovative engineering projects within a collaborative technical environment

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer II for a 2-year contract opportunity based in San Diego, CA.

In this role, you will be responsible for the design, modeling, development, and testing of machines, structures, and engineered systems. The successful candidate will support the full product development lifecycle, from initial concept and functional requirements through simulation, prototyping, testing, integration, and quality evaluation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop mechanical systems, structures, and components
• Create simulations and prototypes to evaluate preliminary designs
• Perform testing and validation activities to ensure system functionality and reliability
• Support component integration and final product development
• Analyze product performance, efficiency, quality, safety, and overall effectiveness
• Investigate root causes of failures and recommend corrective actions and design improvements
• Apply standard engineering principles and best practices throughout the development process
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
• 2–5 years of relevant engineering experience
• Experience with mechanical design, product development, testing, and analysis
• Exposure to simulation, modeling, or CAD tools preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work within cross-functional engineering environments
