Microbiologist (Temporary contract)

Hourly rate:$30-35 per hour
Contract duration:
Immediate start through early April (currently anticipated through April 3)
We’re partnering with an established, commercially focused pharmaceutical manufacturing organization specializing in aseptic fill-finish and sterile production services. Operating within a highly regulated GMP environment and supporting multiple client programs, the team is seeking a Microbiologist to provide coverage through early April.
The Role
Reporting to the Director of Microbiology, this position will serve as a technical Subject Matter Expert for environmental control within an aseptic processing operation. The role requires close cross-functional collaboration with Manufacturing, QC, and Quality teams to ensure compliance, support investigations, and drive continuous improvement across microbiological testing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and/or support microbiology-related technical projects, including method development, transfer, and validation
- Perform microbiological method validation and suitability testing (bioburden and sterility)
- Conduct trending analysis of environmental, personnel, and utility monitoring data
- Investigate excursions and trends, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Support media fill qualification activities and sanitization studies
- Author technical protocols, reports, and Environmental Monitoring trend reports for aseptic manufacturing
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related field
- 2-3+ years of experience in a commercial biotechnology or pharmaceutical production environment
- Strong experience with Environmental Monitoring in aseptic or sterile operations
- Hands-on experience with sterility and bioburden testing
