Position Overview
The Payroll Analyst is responsible for administering payroll processes, including employee wages, benefits, tax withholdings, and other related payments. This role ensures accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of payroll activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and validate payroll calculations (wages, benefits, taxes, and deductions) using an enterprise payroll system
- Verify accuracy of employee time and attendance records approved by supervisors
- Maintain organized payroll records, including employee elections, changes, and supporting documentation
- Complete required federal and state forms for new hires, employee changes, and terminations
- Administer wage garnishments and tax levies in compliance with applicable regulations
- Support quarterly and year-end payroll processes (e.g., 940/941 filings, W-2s)
- Assist with audits, system testing, and internal/external reporting requests
- Provide timely support while handling inquiries and resolving payroll-related issues professionally
- Build and maintain effective working relationships across teams
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 3 years of payroll experience
- Experience in high-volume payroll environments
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and solve problems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field
- Payroll certifications (e.g., CPP, FPC) or CPA designation
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
- Experience with Oracle Payroll systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and data analysis)
- Payroll tax experience
