Job Responsibilities:
In this role, you will own the governance, operational health, security, and long-term sustainability of the Salesforce platform across multiple enterprise Salesforce orgs. You will proactively identify platform risks, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and partner with engineering, cybersecurity, and executive stakeholders to ensure a secure, reliable, and scalable Salesforce environment. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading enterprise Salesforce platform governance initiatives, including:
- Monitoring platform health, Apex performance, integration reliability, and platform limits.
- Driving proactive resolution of technical issues before they impact business operations.
- Establishing platform health metrics and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partnering with Salesforce Signature Success, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to prioritize and resolve critical platform issues.
- Managing Salesforce security and compliance initiatives, including MFA enforcement, phishing-resistant authentication, email domain verification, transaction security policies, and other Salesforce security enhancements.
- Ensuring platform compliance with SOX requirements, enterprise risk standards, and audit controls.
- Governing Salesforce platform architecture, feature lifecycle management, and adoption of new platform capabilities while retiring deprecated functionality.
- Driving governance-first delivery practices aligned with enterprise software reliability and delivery standards.
Essential Duties and Job Functions:
- Develop and maintain the Salesforce platform health roadmap across multiple Salesforce environments.
- Monitor and resolve Apex performance issues, integration failures, asynchronous processing bottlenecks, database efficiency concerns, and platform limit risks.
- Define, track, and report platform health KPIs to support operational excellence.
- Coordinate with Salesforce Signature Success and internal engineering teams to ensure timely issue resolution.
- Lead the organization's response to Salesforce security updates and enforcement changes.
- Partner with Cybersecurity teams to support incident response activities and maintain awareness of emerging security threats.
- Maintain platform controls supporting SOX compliance, audit readiness, and enterprise governance requirements.
- Establish and enforce architectural standards for:
- Managed and unmanaged package governance.
- Permission set strategy and security model.
- Integration architecture and best practices.
- Salesforce Data Cloud implementations.
- Manage the lifecycle of Salesforce features, ensuring timely adoption of new functionality and retirement of deprecated features.
- Promote governance-first development practices that align with enterprise software reliability frameworks and accelerated delivery standards.
- Communicate platform health, technical risks, and mitigation strategies to both technical and executive audiences.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong understanding of Salesforce platform architecture and administration.
- Experience monitoring Salesforce platform performance and operational health.
- Knowledge of Apex performance optimization, governor limits, and asynchronous processing.
- Experience supporting Salesforce integrations and troubleshooting integration failures.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce security best practices, authentication methods, and platform security controls.
- Knowledge of SOX compliance, audit controls, and enterprise risk management principles.
- Experience with Salesforce Data Cloud and modern Salesforce platform capabilities preferred.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical issues into business impact.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams and build strong relationships across engineering, security, and leadership organizations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
- Experience supporting enterprise Salesforce platforms in a governance, architecture, platform operations, or technical program/project management capacity.
- Experience working with Salesforce Signature Success or equivalent enterprise support model preferred.
- Experience supporting Salesforce security, compliance, and enterprise platform governance initiatives.
- Salesforce certifications (Administrator, Platform App Builder, Platform Developer, Architect, or related certifications) are highly desirable.
