Project Manager – Civil Engineer

Job Responsibilities:
In this role, you will support the Utility-Scale Energy Storage team
as a Civil Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) focused on battery energy storage systems (BESS) and renewable energy infrastructure projects. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and supporting planning, coordination, and execution of civil engineering projects
- Serving as SME for civil design, permitting, and regulatory compliance
- Reviewing and providing technical input on hydrology studies, geotechnical reports, and civil design packages
- Supporting development and review of SWPPP (Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans) and SPCC documents
- Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal codes, regulations, and standards
- Developing project scope for Engineer of Record (EOR)
- Coordinating with internal teams and contractors across energy storage and utility-scale projects
- Managing, directing, and evaluating work of professionals and contractors
- Supporting project execution from design through construction and closeout
Essential Duties and Job Functions:
- Plan, prioritize, and manage multiple civil and energy infrastructure projects
- Evaluate complex technical problems and implement innovative engineering solutions
- Review civil engineering deliverables for accuracy, compliance, and constructability
- Apply engineering principles to grading, earthwork, foundations, stormwater systems, and site development
- Collaborate across business units and external stakeholders
- Prepare clear technical reports and presentations for project stakeholders
- Conduct site visits as needed to support project execution
- Ensure adherence to construction, environmental, and safety regulations
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles in utility-scale infrastructure projects
- Expertise in grading, earthwork, foundations, stormwater management, and site design
- Knowledge of environmental compliance documents (SWPPP, SPCC)
- Strong understanding of local, state, and federal construction and environmental codes
- Ability to analyze technical reports including geotechnical and hydrology studies
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license – REQUIRED (Civil or Structural)
- 7+ years of experience in utility-scale power generation or industrial infrastructure projects
- Experience in project management or team leadership
- Background in renewable energy or energy storage projects preferred
