Summary
We are seeking an experienced Protein Biophysics Scientist to join a multidisciplinary research team focused on applying molecular and cell biology techniques to support drug discovery programs related to aging and disease. This role is responsible for performing protein biomarker analysis from plasma samples, developing and executing plate-based assays, and supporting protein biophysics research. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, detail-oriented, capable of working independently, and comfortable presenting findings to cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and execute plate-based assays to quantify protein biomarkers from plasma samples.
- Perform and develop in vitro assays to evaluate protein-protein and enzymatic interactions.
- Conduct biophysical characterization of recombinant proteins.
- Generate and analyze dose-response curves for inhibitor studies.
- Support high-throughput screening activities using plate-based assay platforms.
- Maintain accurate experimental records and analyze data with attention to detail.
- Present experimental results and collaborate effectively with cross-functional research teams.
- Contribute to general laboratory operations and support protein biophysics research activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related scientific discipline.
- 5+ years of relevant laboratory experience.
- Hands-on experience with protein biomarker quantification using plate-based assays such as MSD, ELISA, and TR-FRET.
- Experience developing and executing in vitro assays for protein interaction studies.
- Experience with high-throughput drug screening methodologies.
- Strong wet lab experience within a research or drug discovery environment.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work both independently and within cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SDS-PAGE and capillary-based Western blot technologies.
- Experience with protein conjugation chemistries and protein labeling techniques.
- Prior experience supporting protein biophysics or drug discovery research programs.
