Job Responsibilities:
In this role, you will support the Protein Chemistry group within the R&D Protein and Process Analytics department, contributing to analytical innovation and scientific research related to biotherapeutic protein characterization. Key responsibilities include:
- Plan and execute scientific and experimental activities for assigned research projects.
- Perform laboratory work including analytical testing, method development, and optimization.
- Conduct protein characterization using analytical separation techniques.
- Evaluate and test emerging analytical technologies to support innovation in biologics.
- Analyze and interpret complex experimental data and present findings to internal stakeholders.
- Prepare scientific reports, documentation, and technical reviews for project teams.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to support research initiatives and deliver technical solutions.
Essential Duties and Job Functions:
- Perform analytical studies using liquid chromatography and capillary electrophoresis techniques for protein characterization.
- Analyze critical quality attributes (CQAs) and post-translational modifications (PTMs) including size variants, charge variants, purity, and glycosylation profiles.
- Execute and document analytical experiments while ensuring data accuracy and reproducibility.
- Communicate analytical results and insights effectively to project teams and stakeholders.
- Support the development and validation of analytical methods used in biologics research.
- Contribute to innovation initiatives within the analytical characterization of biotherapeutics.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong knowledge of protein analytical techniques and characterization methods.
- Experience with chromatography techniques such as RP, HILIC, SEC, and IEX.
- Hands-on experience with capillary electrophoresis techniques including CE-SDS and icIEF.
- Ability to analyze complex datasets and translate results into meaningful scientific insights.
- Strong scientific writing and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working within cross-functional teams.
- Research-focused mindset with an interest in innovation within biologics and protein analytics.
- Understanding of the biopharmaceutical industry and analytical technologies used in protein characterization.
Education & Experience:
- BSc or MSc in Life Sciences or related field(Biochemistry, Biology, Biotechnology preferred).
- Prior industry or academic experience in an analytical laboratory, preferably focused on protein analysis.
- Experience working with analytical characterization techniques for biotherapeutic proteins is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to deliver innovative solutions to scientific challenges.
