Senior Jira & Confluence Administrator
3-Month Contract | $66–71/hr | Palo Alto or Irvine, CA
This is a 3-month contract opportunity supporting a leading automotive technology company's internal tooling ecosystem. The Senior Jira & Confluence Administrator will serve as the technical subject matter expert for the organization's Atlassian environment, driving best practices, user enablement, and day-to-day administration across a complex enterprise deployment.
Job Responsibilities:
In this role, you will manage and support a variety of projects within the IT/Engineering Tools department. Key responsibilities include:
Essential Job Duties and Functions:
- Administer, support, and maintain enterprise Jira and Confluence applications
- Enforce organizational best practices, standards, and governance across all Atlassian tools
- Serve as the escalation point for technical issues and trusted advisor for end users
- Configure and support integrations between Jira and development tooling
- Manage reporting in Jira and associated reporting applications
- Identify and communicate gaps between current and desired end states
- Lead tool usage guidance, standard methodologies, and implementation efforts
- Document technical solutions aligned with enterprise objectives
- Deliver scheduled and ad-hoc demos and training sessions for all Atlassian tools
- Collaborate with internal and external teams across time zones
Knowledge and Skills:
- Deep hands-on expertise with the Atlassian product suite: Jira, Confluence, Service Desk, and related tools
- Experience configuring and supporting third-party add-ons (Structure, Insight, Zephyr, etc.)
- Strong understanding of enterprise-level process enablement using Jira and Confluence
- Conceptual and practical knowledge of SDLC, ITIL, and Agile frameworks
- Familiarity with common networking terms and tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong executive presence
- Proven ability to manage multiple clients and deliverables through effective time management
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong facilitation skills, attention to detail, and collaborative mindset
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required
- 5+ years of hands-on Atlassian administration experience
- Prior experience in an enterprise or agile environment strongly preferred
