We are currently working with a Global Sporting Organisation who are seeking a commercially-minded Senior Employment Solicitor to join their high-performing legal function. This is a business-critical role acting as a strategic partner to the Chief People Officer and the Director of Legal.

The successful candidate will navigate the complexities of a fast-paced, multi-jurisdictional environment, providing elite-level counsel across the organisation’s core sporting operations and its dedicated international broadcast and production arm.

Core Responsibilities

  • Strategic Advisory: Act as the lead legal point of contact for all contentious and non-contentious employment matters across the UK and international subsidiaries.
  • Compliance Leadership: Proactively identify and mitigate legal risks, staying ahead of global regulatory shifts to design and implement robust compliance frameworks and HR policies.
  • Litigation & Dispute Management: Oversee complex employment-related disputes, tribunal proceedings, and sensitive internal investigations.
  • Global Stakeholder Management: Manage the instruction and relationship with top-tier external counsel, both domestically and across various international jurisdictions.
  • Business Integration: Provide tailored legal guidance to the organisation’s media and production business, ensuring employment practices align with unique broadcast and commercial requirements.

The Ideal Profile

  • Legal Expertise: A qualified Solicitor with approximately 5–7 years’ PQE (applicants outside this bracket with the requisite skills will be considered).
  • Technical Breadth: Demonstrated experience handling complex UK matters - including TUPE transfers and high-stakes dispute resolution - ideally within a large-scale, corporate environment.
  • Background: High-calibre training from a reputable law firm or a sophisticated in-house legal department.
  • Commercial Acumen: A background in or a strong affinity for the sports, media, or entertainment sectors, with an understanding of data protection implications.
  • Communication: Exceptional ability to distil complex legal principles into clear, digestible, and actionable advice for diverse stakeholders.
