Solar Development Project Manager

Las Vegas, NV

Duration: 1-year contract

Pay:$50-56/hr



In this role, you will support early-stage solar projects for a global renewable energy construction company. You will work closely with the Solar Regional Lead Project Manager while independently managing assigned projects and providing both business and project support to ensure successful development and readiness for construction.


Key Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of a portfolio of assigned solar projects, independently managing them through the Early-Stage development process until handoff to the Construction team.
  • Use technical, commercial, and financial knowledge to support project success and help the team meet overall project, business unit, and corporate objectives.
  • Analyze technical and financial information to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, while considering broader market conditions that may impact project performance.
  • Oversee all aspects of assigned projects, ensuring each is technically feasible, financially viable, commercially supported, and aligned with schedule requirements.
  • Provide development and permitting support by coordinating with internal subject-matter experts, engineering teams, and external partners to resolve issues and maintain project progress.
  • Manage project capital budgets, including approvals, forecasting, and variance tracking across multiple projects within your portfolio.
  • Develop construction plans and schedules, support contract negotiations, and identify opportunities to improve project efficiency and cost performance.
  • Utilize project management and reporting software to track deliverables, maintain accurate data, and report on key performance indicators.
  • Contribute to team improvements by supporting process development, tool implementation, and training initiatives within the Early-Stage team.
  • Communicate regularly with executive leadership, suppliers, regulatory agencies, local communities, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and project success.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field
  • Project management experience
  • Strong financial analysis and data interpretation skills
  • Mechanical aptitude or interest in technical project details
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to take ownership of work
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in construction, renewable energy, or the solar industry is a plus
