Position Summary
Our client is a leading energy company seeking a Technical Services Specialist to join their team in Juno Beach, FL. Employees in this role assist Senior Level Physical Real Time Desk trader/operators in overseeing customers’ generation fleet in real-time markets and completing daily recurring shift tasks. The successful candidate will demonstrate basic knowledge of power generation economics and dispatch characteristics, as well as the ability to understand ISO/RTO protocol and market portals across ISO-NE, NYISO, PJM, SERC, SPP, MISO, ERCOT, CAISO, WECC, IESO, AESO, and transmission reservation and tagging systems. Strong attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to follow established procedures are essential.
Responsibilities
- Assist Senior Level Physical Real Time Desk trader/operators in monitoring and managing customers’ generation fleet across real-time energy markets
- Complete daily recurring shift tasks in accordance with established procedures
- Monitor and interact with ISO/RTO market portals including ISO-NE, NYISO, PJM, SERC, SPP, MISO, ERCOT, CAISO, WECC, IESO, and AESO
- Manage transmission reservations and tagging systems
- Apply knowledge of power generation economics and dispatch characteristics to support trading operations
- Communicate clearly and accurately with team members across fast-paced, time-sensitive situations
- Operate on a 12-hour rotating shift (DuPont Schedule)
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree (completed, substantially in progress, or equivalent experience) required; Engineering or Business Administration preferred
- 1+ years of experience preferred; generator operator or control centre experience an asset
Knowledge & Skills
- Familiarity with ISO/RTO market protocols and portals (ISO-NE, NYISO, PJM, SERC, SPP, MISO, ERCOT, CAISO, WECC, IESO, AESO)
- Understanding of power generation economics and dispatch characteristics
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite; intermediate-level Excel required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Availability to work 12-hour rotating shifts (DuPont Schedule)
