Cell Biologist - Neuroscience Focus | Early Discovery
We are seeking an experienced Cell Biologist to support early-stage drug discovery efforts. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in cell and molecular biology, particularly in neuroscience, and will contribute to the development of novel therapeutic compounds. This client are based in South San Francisco, CA, and are offering the opportunity on an initial 6 month contracting basis. As a w2 contract worker you are eligible to a benefits package including health/dental/vision/life insurance, a 401k vehicle and more.
Hourly rate:$55-65/hr (~$110-130,000/year). We encourage candidates of all levels to apply, yet the salary offer will be based on a variety of factors, including experience, qualifications etc.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute neurobiology experiments to support preclinical development.
- Develop neuronal assays for in vitro proof-of-concept and quantitative analysis.
- Conduct proliferation and cytotoxicity studies; experience with IHC/ICC and confocal microscopy is a plus.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to manage complex studies.
- Communicate results clearly through written and oral reports.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare scientific presentations and manuscripts.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Biology, Neuroscience, or related field (or MS + 4+ years of industry experience).
- 5+ years of experience in cell culture, managing multiple cell lines and primary cells.
- Strong knowledge of biochemical and molecular techniques.
- Drug discovery experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
