Hydrogen Group is seeking a skilled Battery Structural Analyst
to join our client’s engineering team. In this role, you will perform durability and crash analysis of vehicle battery systems, collaborating closely with design engineers to drive optimized, high-performance solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct durability analysis of vehicle structures using finite element tools such as Optistruct, Abaqus, and Hyperview/META.
- Utilize LS-Dyna for battery system and component crash analysis based on CAD data.
- Partner with design engineers and suppliers to collect material properties and connection details.
- Post-process and report CAE results, providing actionable recommendations for design optimization.
- Define component and material performance requirements and design boundaries.
- Guide the creation of physical test plans for validation based on analysis outcomes.
- Lead the development of processes and strategies for robust analysis, optimization, and delivery of battery systems.
Qualifications
- BS degree with 7+ years, MS with 5+ years, or PhD with 3+ years in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Proficiency in Optistruct, Abaqus, Hyperview/META, and LS-Dyna for automotive structural applications.
- Strong background in solid mechanics, materials, and structural analysis.
- Experience with CATIA and FEA model building from CAD data.
- Knowledge of material properties and physics principles relevant to automotive body structures and energy management.
- Experience in designing and developing component or sub-system tests.
- Skilled in preparing formal reports summarizing analysis results.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with automotive design, development processes, and system requirements.
