Overview
We are seeking a CAD Components Engineer to support the design, optimization, and manufacturability of standard mechanical components, with a strong focus on fasteners. This role partners closely with design and manufacturing teams to ensure components are fit-for-purpose, production-ready, and aligned with engineering and quality standards.
This is a hands-on engineering role suited for candidates who enjoy problem-solving, working with physical products, and seeing designs through to production.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed 3D and 2D CAD models based on high-level design requirements
- Collaborate with design engineers to recommend optimal component selection for specific applications
- Drive component design from concept through release into production
- Ensure components meet functional, manufacturing, and quality requirements through reviews and feedback loops
- Partner with suppliers to refine and improve component designs
- Interface with testing and lab teams to validate performance against specifications
- Support assembly optimization and component standardization efforts
- Create parameterized CAD rulesets to enable automated model generation aligned with industry standards
Required Skills
- Advanced CAD expertise (CATIA V5/V6 strongly preferred)
- Strong understanding of mechanical components and manufacturability principles
- Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams
