CAPEX Procurement Lead (Contract) – Pharmaceutical Projects
We are partnering with a leading organization in the pharmaceutical / life sciences industry to identify a CAPEX Procurement Lead to support major capital projects. This role will play a critical part in managing procurement activities across equipment, construction, and services within an EPCM project environment.
This is a high-visibility role working cross-functionally with project leadership, engineering, construction teams, and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities

Act as the owner’s representative overseeing procurement activities executed by EPCM / general contractor teams

Lead and manage the full procurement lifecycle for CAPEX projects (sourcing through delivery)

Oversee procurement of equipment, construction, and project services

Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers and contractors

Ensure all contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders are executed and managed in compliance with project requirements

Track procurement progress and provide status reporting to stakeholders and leadership

Monitor contract performance, manage change orders, and resolve contract issues or disputes

Partner with project controls (cost & schedule) to ensure alignment with budget and timelines

Collaborate with Project Managers to support timely procurement execution

Lead vendor selection processes, including bid evaluations and supplier recommendations

Maintain and manage vendor relationships and support ongoing communications

Ensure procurement documentation, approvals, and records are accurate and up to date

Develop and track procurement KPIs and performance metrics

Support procurement process improvements, including policies, procedures, and compliance

Partner with Legal to execute NDAs, MSAs/MPAs, and SOWs
Required Experience
-
Experience in CAPEX / capital project procurement
-
Background supporting pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences projects

Experience working within EPCM or EPC environments

Proven experience negotiating equipment and/or construction contracts

Strong understanding of contract management and procurement processes
