Juno Beach, FL (100% on-site)

Duration: 12-month contract

Pay:$40-46/hr




Serve as a Commissioning Manager representing the Project Owner on a portfolio of renewable energy projects. This role is responsible for leading commissioning, startup, and operational turnover activities across assigned renewable power plants. The position ensures projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contractual, technical, and operational requirements.




Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee commissioning activities for assigned projects, ensuring high-quality execution and strict adherence to safety policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and manage EPC contractor personnel, OEM startup teams, third-party commissioning contractors, and operations staff during site commissioning and startup phases.
  • Ensure plant reliability at operational turnover, minimizing downtime and lost generation during initial operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable project contracts, including Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) and Large Generator Interconnection Agreement (LGIA) requirements with local utilities.
  • Coordinate with Transmission Operators and Independent System Operators to achieve scheduled energization and commercial operation dates.
  • Manage and direct the Owner’s on-site commissioning personnel.
  • Interface closely with project safety, engineering, and quality control teams to ensure alignment and issue resolution.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of electrical construction and commissioning methods, including NEC and NFPA standards.
  • Experience with SCADA system integration and troubleshooting.
  • Expertise in electrical and instrumentation (E&I) controls, including installation, startup, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in protection and controls implementation and issue resolution.
  • Ability to perform drawing reviews and quality control inspections.
  • Experience with progress tracking and reporting.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF editing tools, and document control systems.
  • Proven ability to manage third-party contractors, suppliers, and vendors.
  • Experience managing direct-report team members.
  • Solid understanding of project scheduling and planning principles.

Preferred Background

  • Self-motivated professional with a strong commitment to quality, execution excellence, and safety.
  • Minimum of 5 years of on-site experience supporting renewable power generation project construction, startup, and commissioning.
  • At least 3 years of experience working for an EPC on renewable power generation projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams on complex technical issues and with construction teams on constructability, schedule, and cost considerations.
