Responsible for assisting in tasks related to activities involving negotiations, contract documents, and other legal/regulatory proceedings with regard to the wholesale power and natural gas business and related commercial transactions. Reviews contractual agreements or proposed amendments for conformity to company policies or recommendations. Generates outgoing contracts, amendments, and confirmations to trading partners. Maintains accurate records, coordinates and tracks incoming and outgoing documents, and manages and maintains contract/counterparty database. Position may also assist with Proforma development (including assumption validation) and complete reporting as needed. Under limited guidance, interacts with a team of maintenance specialists, technicians, engineers, and contractors involved in power plant overhauls and maintenance.
Position is expected to apply rigor, discipline, and focus in following standardized processes and procedures, while continuously applying a lean and quality improvement mindset to improve the process. Position should possess technical knowledge of power plant equipment and be skilled in understanding and resolving technical issues, including for unplanned scope. Position works closely with other Specialists, Supervisors, and Contract Coordinators to develop and implement complex plans for execution of work scope.
Responsibilities: Leads contract administration activities, assists in legal and regulatory compliance, and oversees contractual agreement reviews. Manages contract execution processes, including amendments, negotiations, and confirmation tracking. Required to be in the field for long hours in possible adverse weather conditions, attend meetings, provide feedback, and promote safety in all aspects. Other: Works closely with supervisors and contract teams to develop and implement complex execution plans.
Education: Designation as a paralegal or other relevant college degree required.
Relevant Experience: 0 - 5 years of experience in contract negotiation, contract execution, and financial trading institution transactions.
