ENGINEER - AUTOCAD DESIGNER

LOCATION: Los Angeles, CA

SCHEDULE: Onsite 1–2 days per week

DURATION: 1-Year Contract

PAY RATE:$49-54/hr.




Job Responsibilities: In this role, you will contribute to the full engineering design lifecycle by preparing high-quality technical drawings, schematics, and design documentation that meet engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations. Key responsibilities include:

· Developing and reviewing technical drawings and design deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.

· Developing and managing 3D piping models using Autodesk AutoCAD Plant 3D.

· Generating intelligent Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).

· Producing accurate orthographic and isometric drawings.

· Supporting the design and documentation of high-pressure pipelines.

· Interpreting engineering concepts and requirements and translating them into clear, precise technical drawings.

· Maintaining project databases and design documentation in accordance with applicable industry standards.

· Collaborating with engineers, designers, and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely project deliverables.

· Adapting to changing project requirements and supporting multiple disciplines as needed.




Essential Duties and Job Functions:

· Lead the development and review of 3D models, piping layouts, and orthographic drawings.

· Ensure engineering drawings and design deliverables comply with company standards and applicable industry codes.

· Develop and manage detailed 3D piping models using Autodesk AutoCAD Plant 3D.

· Create and maintain intelligent P&IDs.

· Generate detailed piping orthographic and isometric drawings.

· Support the design and documentation of high-pressure pipeline systems.

· Interpret engineering concepts, specifications, and requirements and convert them into accurate and detailed drawings.

· Review technical drawings and design documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.

· Maintain project databases and associated engineering design information.

· Support the full design lifecycle, from initial design development through revisions and final documentation.

· Collaborate with engineers and other disciplines to resolve design issues and coordinate project deliverables.

· Apply strong drafting and technical documentation practices across assigned projects.

· Adapt to different project requirements and apply a broad range of drafting and design expertise.

· Participate in continuous learning and development of technical drafting and design skills.




Knowledge & Skills:

· Strong technical drafting skills.

· Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD Plant 3D.

· Strong experience developing and managing 3D piping models.

· Experience creating intelligent P&IDs.

· Ability to produce accurate orthographic and isometric drawings.

· Ability to interpret engineering concepts and translate them into clear, precise technical drawings.

· Knowledge of piping layouts and engineering design practices.

· Experience supporting the design and documentation of high-pressure pipelines.

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Education & Experience:

· 2–10 years of relevant engineering drafting/design experience.

· High School Diploma required.

· Bachelor's Degree preferred.

· Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD Plant 3D required.

· Experience developing and managing 3D piping models.

· Experience generating intelligent P&IDs.

· Experience producing orthographic and isometric drawings.

· Experience supporting the design and documentation of high-pressure pipeline systems.

· Experience working with engineering teams and supporting the full design lifecycle.

· Experience working across multiple engineering disciplines is preferred.
