HR Advisor – New Zealand
Standalone role | ANZ remit | HR Generalist + Compensation & Benefits
Salary:$120kNZD – $145kNZD depending on experience
An opportunity has opened with a global organisation operating across manufacturing. With a strong international footprint and a well-established presence across APAC, the business is continuing to invest in its people function across ANZ.
This role will act as the HR lead for New Zealand, partnering closely with an Australia-based HR team to deliver a consistent and commercially focused people strategy across the region.
We’re particularly interested in candidates who bring strong HR generalist capability alongside exposure to remuneration, compensation and benefits processes.
The Role
This is a broad, end-to-end HR position combining both strategic and operational responsibilities. You’ll work closely with local leadership while ensuring alignment with the wider ANZ HR framework.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as the primary HR contact for New Zealand, partnering with leaders across the business
- Embedding and delivering the ANZ HR strategy locally
- Supporting organisational design, workforce planning, and capability development
- Managing end-to-end recruitment and onboarding
- Leading employee relations activity including performance management, investigations, disciplinaries, and restructures
- Supporting compensation and benefits activity including salary benchmarking, remuneration reviews, incentive processes, and benefits administration
- Working with remuneration data, reporting, and spreadsheets to support people-related decision making
- Managing annual salary review cycles and supporting market analysis across ANZ
- Overseeing HR operations including systems, data, and payroll coordination
- Driving engagement, culture, and internal communications initiatives
- Providing reporting and insights on headcount, turnover, and people costs
- Ensuring compliance with NZ employment legislation and regulatory requirements
About You
You’ll be a well-rounded HR professional who is comfortable operating both strategically and hands-on in a standalone capacity.
We’re looking for:
- Strong HR generalist experience, ideally within a multi-site or regional environment
- Exposure to compensation & benefits, remuneration reviews, or reward processes
- Confidence working with HR data, salary benchmarking, and reporting
- Proven ability to partner with and influence senior stakeholders
- Experience managing employee relations matters end-to-end
- A proactive, organised approach with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Strong commercial awareness and data-driven mindset
- Advanced Excel or spreadsheet capability would be highly regarded
